About the Role We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Team Manager to lead our BI team within Capital Markets Data Solutions. The role is responsible for delivering trusted, scalable and intuitive analytics for internal stakeholders and external clients , with a particular focus on Equities and Foreign Exchange Trading . This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep expertise in Tableau and data visualisation , combined with strong knowledge of Snowflake, AWS, Data Engineering and Capital Markets . The successful candidate will lead the team, shape the technology roadmap and ensure our BI capability delivers measurable business and client outcomes. We are looking for a forward-thinking leader who continually challenges how technology, data and ways of working can be faster, simpler, more secure, resilient and cost-effective .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing BI team.
- Own BI delivery and partner with Product, Data Engineering, Technology, internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Provide technical leadership across Tableau Products (Tableau Cloud, Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop) , including visualisation, architecture, performance, administration, authentication, security and deployment.
- Apply strong Equities Trading and FX knowledge to turn complex market, liquidity and execution data into actionable insights.
- Work with Data Engineering teams to optimise data models, pipelines and queries for speed, scalability and user experience .
- Influence the end-to-end architecture across Snowflake, AWS, Tableau and the wider data ecosystem .
- Ensure strong cyber security, data quality, governance, controls and entitlements across BI solutions.
- Establish reliable operational support, monitoring, incident management, resilience and recovery frameworks for critical BI services.
- Champion governed self-service analytics and continuously improve the client and user experience.
- Lead Tableau adoption and the Tableau Centre of Excellence by establishing governance, standards, training, and best practices, enabling secure self-service analytics and driving user adoption.
- Manage relevant technology contracts, licensing, suppliers and renewals , with a focus on commercial and cost optimisation.
- Continually evaluate new BI, cloud, data and AI technologies , driving automation, simplification and modernisation.
Skills & Experience Essential
- Significant BI and data visualisation experience, including leadership of technical teams .
- Strong knowledge of Equities and Foreign Exchange Trading markets , including trading, liquidity and execution data.
- Deep Tableau expertise , including advanced visualisation, UI/UX, performance optimisation, administration and enterprise deployment.
- Strong experience with Snowflake and AWS in enterprise data and analytics environments.
- Advanced SQL and strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling and data engineering .
- Experience optimising the end-to-end journey from data engineering through to visualisation and user experience .
- Strong understanding of cyber security, data governance, controls, lineage and access management .
- Experience establishing and managing reliable production and operational support frameworks .
- Strong stakeholder and client management skills, including experience working with external clients .
- Experience managing technology contracts, licensing, suppliers and renewals .
- Strong commercial awareness and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Demonstrable experience delivering measurable business outcomes through data and BI, including improved decision-making, client experience, efficiency, revenue, risk reduction or cost optimisation. Desirable
