Job Description The Lead, Strategic Programs & Transformation is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the future sales operating model by translating business priorities into scalable capabilities, measurable outcomes, and sustained performance improvement. The role partners closely with sales and business leaders to redesign how sales teams operate, prioritize opportunities, leverage insights, access knowledge, adopt AI-enabled capabilities, and execute against growth objectives. The position serves as a strategic transformation partner to leadership, driving enterprise-wide initiatives that improve commercial effectiveness, productivity, decision-making, and organizational agility. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, sales operations, enablement, transformation, data, and AI, helping build the next generation of capabilities that support profitable growth and long-term competitive advantage. The successful candidate will lead high-impact strategic programs, operating-model improvements, digital transformation initiatives, and sales enablement efforts while ensuring measurable business value through disciplined execution, governance, adoption, and value realization. Why This Role Matters Sales organizations are under increasing pressure to accelerate growth, improve productivity, enhance customer engagement, and scale effectively in a rapidly evolving business environment. Achieving these outcomes requires more than process improvement or technology adoption. It demands modern operating models, disciplined execution, AI-enabled innovation, and a relentless focus on value realization. This role plays a critical part in shaping that transformation. It offers the opportunity to work directly with senior sales and business leaders, influence enterprise priorities, and lead initiatives that redefine how sales teams operate, execute, collaborate, and create commercial impact. The successful candidate will help build the frameworks, governance mechanisms, operating rhythms, capabilities, and transformation roadmaps that position the sales organization for sustainable growth and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Program Leadership • Lead a portfolio of high-priority strategic programs aligned to sales and business objectives. • Translate strategic priorities into structured initiatives, workstreams, milestones, governance frameworks, and measurable outcomes. • Drive end-to-end program execution from problem definition and solution design through implementation and benefits realization. • Establish executive governance forums, operating cadences, reporting mechanisms, and decision-making structures. • Manage dependencies, risks, resource requirements, and stakeholder alignment across complex initiatives. • Provide strategic recommendations and actionable insights to support executive decision-making. • Promote consistent program-management and governance standards across transformation initiatives. • Partner with senior leadership to identify strategic opportunities that drive commercial growth, organizational effectiveness, and operational excellence. 2. Sales Performance & Execution Transformation • Lead initiatives that improve the effectiveness, scalability, consistency, and predictability of sales execution. • Simplify, standardize, and optimize sales processes, operating practices, and governance models. • Improve visibility into critical business metrics, including pipeline health, bookings, forecast performance, deal progression, sales productivity, and execution performance. • Partner with sales leadership and finance teams to strengthen performance management and actual-versus-forecast insights. • Develop mechanisms that enhance execution discipline, accountability, operational rigor, and performance transparency across teams and geographies. • Identify opportunities to remove process friction, improve organizational productivity, and increase seller effectiveness. • Implement scalable operating mechanisms that strengthen commercial execution while supporting business growth objectives. 3. Sales Transformation, Enablement & Operating Model Innovation • Define and execute transformation roadmaps spanning sales processes, capabilities, operating models, governance, and ways of working. • Define and help evolve the future-state sales operating model, including sales planning, performance management, seller productivity, knowledge enablement, governance, and execution effectiveness. • Identify opportunities to redesign how sales teams access information, collaborate, prioritize activities, and engage customers throughout the sales lifecycle. • Lead initiatives that improve organizational scalability, simplify seller experiences, and reduce non-selling effort. • Develop scalable frameworks, methodologies, playbooks, and operating models that improve sales effectiveness. • Build and institutionalize reusable sales-enablement assets, including points of view, capability narratives, executive presentations, case studies, commercial frameworks, pursuit support materials, and playbooks. • Establish repeatable frameworks that improve the consistency of commercial execution while enabling flexibility across geographies, markets, and account teams. • Improve the speed, quality, and consistency of sales pursuits through standardized approaches and best practices. • Drive adoption of new capabilities, processes, operating models, and sales-enablement solutions across the organization. • Support the creation of differentiated commercial propositions and strategic sales assets that enhance customer engagement and business development efforts. 4. Digital, AI & Process Innovation • Establish the strategic roadmap for AI-enabled sales transformation and identify opportunities to embed GenAI, agentic AI, analytics, workflow automation, and digital capabilities across the sales lifecycle. • Identify opportunities to improve planning, prospecting, forecasting, account intelligence, knowledge management, seller productivity, decision support, and sales execution through AI-enabled solutions. • Shape business cases, transformation roadmaps, and adoption strategies for technology-enabled initiatives. • Partner with business leaders to fundamentally improve how sales teams work rather than simply digitizing existing processes. • Collaborate with technology, data, and business stakeholders to assess feasibility, prioritize opportunities, and implement scalable solutions. • Drive adoption and business value realization through governance, change management, measurement frameworks, and user engagement strategies. • Ensure digital transformation initiatives remain focused on business outcomes, user adoption, and measurable value creation. • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across sales operations and enablement functions. 5. Governance, Executive Reporting & Value Realization • Define key performance indicators, success measures, and value-tracking frameworks for strategic initiatives. • Establish benefits-realization methodologies covering revenue impact, productivity gains, efficiency improvements, cycle-time reduction, quality improvements, and other relevant business outcomes. • Monitor progress against transformation objectives, business cases, and expected benefits. • Develop executive-level reporting, dashboards, performance reviews, and strategic recommendations. • Provide transparency into program health, risks, dependencies, and outcomes. • Ensure strategic initiatives maintain a clear focus on business impact and value creation. • Enable informed executive decision-making through fact-based reporting, insights, and performance analytics. 6. Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management • Build strong relationships across sales, finance, marketing, operations, HR, technology, and other corporate functions. • Serve as a trusted adviser to business leaders on transformation priorities, execution risks, operating-model evolution, and strategic opportunities. • Influence and align stakeholders across functions, geographies, and organizational boundaries. • Act as an effective bridge between business stakeholders and technology or delivery organizations. • Drive collaboration across global and distributed teams to achieve shared objectives. • Foster a culture of accountability, partnership, innovation, and execution excellence. • Build alignment around strategic priorities, transformation roadmaps, investment decisions, and business outcomes.
