- They have a sound understanding of CI/CD processes, agile development.

Associate Director - AWS, Python & Snowflake Developer
Experience Required 10+ years of relevant technology experience, with substantial hands-on engineering work in cloud data platforms
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Associate Director to join our team who continues to write code and build solutions. This role requires deep, practical expertise in AWS, Python, and Snowflake, with a strong emphasis on Snowpark development, serverless architectures, and orchestrated data pipelines. The ideal candidate combines senior-level technical depth with the ability to guide architecture decisions and mentor engineering teams.
Must-Have Skills (Core Requirements)
1) Python Development Strong hands-on programming experience in Python, including building production-grade data processing applications, writing efficient and maintainable code, and working with common libraries used in data engineering workflows.
2) Snowflake & Snowpark Demonstrated experience building and deploying Snowpark stored procedures, working with Snowflake's data engineering capabilities, writing efficient SQL, and optimizing Snowflake warehouses and query performance for large-scale datasets.
3) AWS Cloud Services Practical, hands-on experience with: - AWS Lambda for serverless compute and event-driven processing - Amazon S3 for data storage, lifecycle management, and integration with downstream pipelines - General familiarity with the AWS ecosystem to support cross-service integrations
4) Workflow Orchestration Experience designing, building, and maintaining DAGs (using tools such as Apache Airflow or equivalent orchestration frameworks) to manage complex, multi-step data pipelines with dependencies, scheduling, and failure handling.
5)Secondary Skills (Good to Have)
- Version control proficiency with Git, including branching strategies, pull request workflows, and CI/CD integration - Familiarity with additional AWS services such as Glue, Step Functions, CloudWatch, IAM, ECS/EKS, or SNS/SQS - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) - Exposure to containerization (Docker) and deployment pipelines - Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices in cloud environments
6) Domain Knowledge
Prior exposure to or working knowledge of the asset management/Investment banking or broader financial services industry is a strong plus. Familiarity with investment data concepts, portfolio management systems, or regulatory reporting requirements in this space would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data engineering solutions using Python, Snowflake, and AWS services - Build and optimize Snowpark stored procedures for complex data transformations - Develop serverless applications leveraging AWS Lambda integrated with S3 and other AWS services - Design and manage DAG-based orchestration for end-to-end data pipeline execution - Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance while remaining actively engaged in hands-on development - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data analysts, business stakeholders, and platform engineering - Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and code review processes - Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth within the team - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and performance of data pipelines - Contribute to technical roadmap planning and platform modernization initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) - 10+ years of overall technology experience, with significant time spent in hands-on data engineering roles - Proven track record of delivering production-grade solutions in Python and Snowflake environments - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in ambiguous or evolving requirements - Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
