At Expedia Group, we help travelers explore the world, one journey at a time. As a global travel company powered by passionate people, trusted partnerships, and leading technology, we connect travelers, partners, and advertisers through our consumer brands, B2B network, and travel advertising business.
Here, you'll do meaningful work that helps millions of people discover, book, and experience travel with more ease, confidence, and joy. Our five Behaviors-Traveler First, Think Big, Operate with Excellence, Ownership Mindset, and Succeed Together-help foster a supportive environment where people can grow their careers and have the flexibility, benefits, and support to do their best work. Join us and build for travelers everywhere.
Introduction to team: Distribution & Supply Technology (DST) powers the platform that lets travelers search, book, and experience travel across Expedia Group's brands, including Expedia, Hotels.com , and Vrbo. DST owns Pricing, Inventory, Content, and Marketplace Trust & Safety. Together, these teams source high-quality supply, price it competitively, enrich it with trusted content, and keep our two-sided marketplace safe for travelers and partners.
Machine learning is central to all of it. Our Content systems manage hundreds of millions of digital assets, using ML and LLMs to enrich listings, summarize reviews, and moderate text. Our Pricing models optimize real-time prices across millions of products. Our Trust & Safety models detect policy violations, fraud, and safety risks before they become traveler-facing failures.
You'll work closely with Machine Learning Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product partners in a fast-paced Agile environment to build, deploy, and operate production ML and GenAI systems at scale. That includes batch and real-time inference pipelines, model evaluation and monitoring, and platform capabilities that cut duplicated effort across teams.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain machine learning software and solutions that deliver reliable, secure, and measurable product or engineering outcomes.
- Translate product, business, and technical requirements into scalable machine learning solutions using sound software engineering practices.
- Contribute to low-level system design, API design, data modeling, and technical decisions that support maintainable, resilient, and operationally reliable applications.
- Own machine learning features or components through design, implementation, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, design, data, and other technical teams to deliver outcomes and apply your expertise across multiple problem spaces.
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions, using foundational AI/ML concepts to improve product capabilities, engineering workflows, and customer outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience owning machine learning features or components within a service or application from design and implementation through testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Proficiency in software development, machine learning solution development, API integration, data modeling, version control, automated testing, debugging, and production support.
- Familiarity with low-level system design and developing maintainable, reliable, secure, and operationally resilient software solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering machine learning products or services at scale, with a focus on performance, reliability, security, operational excellence, and measurable customer or business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to use data and production insights to make technical decisions, diagnose complex issues, and improve the reliability and maintainability of machine learning applications.
- Experience contributing to architecture and design decisions across multiple services or technical domains while collaborating effectively with partner teams.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools or applying AI/ML concepts to improve product capabilities, engineering workflows, or customer outcomes.
- Experience safely integrating, monitoring, and operating AI/ML-enabled features in production, with attention to reliability, governance, and measurable impact.
