Job Description Principal Consultant SAP Data Service (BODS) and SAP Information Steward Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking a seasoned Lead SAP Data Quality Specialist to drive enterprise data profiling, remediation, and governance initiatives. In this role, you will serve as the primary expert on SAP Information Steward (IS), supported by strong SAP Data Services (BODS) and advanced Microsoft SQL database skills. You will establish data quality scorecards, enforce business validation rules, and ensure high-integrity data across modern SAP landscapes (ECC, S/4HANA, and HANA Cloud) Key Responsibilities • Should have at least 10+ Years of experience in SAP Information Steward and SAP Data Services (BODS). • SAP Information Steward Rule & Quality Management: Lead end-to-end data profiling, root-cause anomaly analysis, and validation rule design using Data Insight, Cleansing Package Builder, Cleansing Advisor, Match Review, and Custom Attributes. • Scorecards & Trend Monitoring: Build, automate, and maintain Data Insight scorecards in SAP IS to track continuous quality metrics and report compliance trends to stakeholders. • Metadata & Lineage Governance: Configure and maintain enterprise Metadata Repositories across multi-RDBMS landscapes (SQL Server, Oracle, SAP HANA) to ensure end-to-end data lineage, impact analysis, and clear data definitions. • SAP BODS Data Pipelines: Architect, optimize, and maintain complex BODS data flows for extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading, leveraging ABAP CDS Views and ODP frameworks. • Complex Data Transformation & Deduplication (SAP Data Services): Design and optimize complex SAP Data Services (BODS) data flows, implementing advanced transforms (Match, Associate, User-Defined, and Data Cleanse) to automate record linkage, resolve master data duplicates, and enforce survivorship strategies. • Advanced MS SQL Database Engineering: Develop complex T-SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and staging scripts to profile, isolate, and remediate low-quality data upstream. • S/4HANA & Cloud Data Migration: Plan and execute Data Migration (DM) objects, load sequences, cutover strategies, and object dependencies using S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (including Direct Transfer) and traditional techniques (IDoc, LSMW, BDC). • Cross-Module Functional Alignment: Apply deep knowledge of core SAP master and transactional data objects (Material, Customer/BP, Vendor, Finance) along with standard screen extensions (Z-fields). • Cross-Functional Enablement & Governance: Partner with business analysts and IT data stewards to translate data requirements into validation rules, deliver detailed DQ reports, and provide hands-on SAP IS user training. Minimum qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Overall Experience: 6+ years in enterprise Data Management, Data Quality (DQ), Governance, and Migration. • SAP Information Steward (Core): 5+ years of hands-on expertise with Data Insight profiling, scorecards, validation rules, Metadata Management, Cleansing Package Builder, and Match Review. • SAP Data Services / BODS: 5+ years building complex ETL/DQ workflows, specifically using Match Transform, Data Cleanse, and survivorship logic for deduplication. • Microsoft SQL Server: Strong T-SQL proficiency (complex stored procedures, CTEs, indexing, views, and staging tables) for upstream data profiling and remediation. • SAP Integration & Modern Frameworks: Hands-on experience with S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, ABAP CDS Views, ODP extraction, and traditional load methods (IDocs, LSMW, BDC). • Functional Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of core SAP master data objects (Business Partner, Material, Vendor, Finance) and object dependency mapping. • Core Competencies: Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration skills. • Excellent customer facing skills that include conducting compelling technical briefing& demonstrations including issues, status reports and resolving impediments.
